You can add the tie fighter pilot helmet to your wish list and count me in!

- Legend worth it?
- Quality of materials used?
- Packaging?
- Any other discussion also welcome

Love mine but real bummed on the packaging. I feel EFX may be cutting corners and for this amount of money I expect better.

efx totally cut corners on this for sure. i was bummed about the packaging too..but what really bummed me out was when i found out that the serial numbers mean absolutely nothing. they aren't the numbers of the casts pulled from the mold. but actually its the number of the helmet that was made coming down the production line..so any number cast (except the fist few im sure) can be paired together to make up the helmets. kind of ridiculous if you ask me. specially for an expensive iconic item such as this. plus after having it in hand and comparing with photos of the film used helmet. its not film accurate at all. lots of things that dont look the same. such as the dome and the neck. dont get me wrong..i dont totally despise it..lol they did a wonderful job on it. its a really nice "replica". and it did come from a RB mold. so it does have lineage to Star Wars ANH.

EFX said that they pull 20 helmets from a mold which is then destroyed so that they didn't lose detail in the helmets.

Based off that, the number means even less.

I would think people would get really annoyed if they weren't numbered as there would be no way to account for them.

The only art pieces I've ever seen which are numbered in the order that they are produced are the really expensive pieces.

Even comic giclées I'm not so sure of. Years ago, I had ordered #2 of the Legendary Heroes giclée on canvas signed by Jim Lee and Alex Ross. When it came time to ship, I was notified that the first ten produced after the AP's had a water mark on them and had to be redone. So the rest of the run was completed, then the "first" ten were redone, resigned, and then shipped. Was it really #2 at that point?
