Rian Johnson’s Star Wars_Breaking Bad Joke -- Vulture

https://twitter.com/rianjohnson/stat...21565114441728

This is kinda hilarious and brilliant. Rian tweeted to Gary Whitta when the spin off movie got announced last month. Another person joked that Rian was directing Ep VIII. And Rian replied by posting the Breaking Bad image, where Walter says "You got me".

Excellent choice! Kinda surprised that Abrams will only be doing one film though.

Just a reminder, besides directing three movies Rian also directed episodes of Breaking Bad, including one of the best episodes, Ozymandias.

That Time STAR WARS VIII Director Rian Johnson Sang Weird Al’s Yoda | Badass Digest
Ha..I remember watching this video back in 2012 .

Rian Johnson Goes To The Dark Side With STAR WARS EPISODE VIII | Badass Digest
In some ways I agree that I want to see directors like Rian Johnson do more original movies rather than get bogged down with franchise movies for many more years. But at the same time, I can't help but get excited about Rian doing a Star Wars movie. In fact I am now more excited about this movie than Episode VII.

Brick is a very good movie. But I found Looper to be extremely over rated. Probably one of the most over hyped movies I've seen in a while.

I'm not really excited at all about these new Star Wars movies though. Sometimes you hit gold, create magic, etc. That's what the original trilogy is. It's best to try something new I think. Even with the notable cast for the new movie. It's difficult to reach what the originals did all those years ago.
