Cool! Looking forward to where the story goes. Hopefully different writers will mean a more cohesive and comprehensive story than what Prometheus delivered.

I suspect maybe the studio wants every Prometheus sequel to bear the word Alien in its title, regardless of how distant it may be from the timeline of the movie Alien.

I guess that makes sense from the studio's point of view. I wouldn't want them to stick xenomorphs in there just so they can use the title though. I enjoyed Prometheus and would like to see it build to its natural connection to the Alien franchise, not get rushed along by the studio.

So did Blomkamp's Alien just die a quiet death, or is there still a chance that's going to get made?

Blomkamp's Alien is greenlighted but will likely not get into production until 2017 or late 2016.
