I'm glad Sideshow addressed this but let us remember that Sideshow hardly makes changes ever based on potential customer feedback.

Last things I can remember them changing is Psylocke's portrait and Supergirl saluting with the wrong hand.

Cheaper to say "It's fine" and move on.

Now they have to have the sculptor go back and rework the sculpt. 3D print a new prototype, prep it, paint it, and then have the license holder approve it.
...
I remember back in the day PCS founder Jerry Macaluso was talking about moving to digital sculpts/3D printing. He was saying the prototypes were costing him around 10K.
That was back when 3D printers were scarce and often farmed out. Sideshow has several printers themselves now and they routinely do test prints for scale etc.
The sculptor is just a freelancer and from the look of his budding family, he will be all too willing to stay in Sideshow's good graces.

…..Psylocke’s portrait….the most MORONIC thing to listen to. In return we lost a stunning portrait and were given a squished alien face in exchange. I still wonder if SS trolled people with that move, especially since the EX has the OG face.

How often do they really need to? That would be determined by their own internal gauge of what percentage of opinions is criticism. What's their threshold when it becomes worthwhile?

The overwhelming obvious mistake, like this. Yeah, that's an obligation.

But the Magneto maquette took a lot of heat, so they redesigned, just due to a difference of artistic opinion. I give them a lot of credit for that move.

I was never impressed with their half ass fix for John Stewart's missing arm, and IMO that's also a glaring mistake.

Yeah I forgot that one. I'm not saying they should be making more changes. There is noise on literally every piece from every company.
Just pointing out they rarely make changes.
People harsh on P1 and PCS but both have made changes based on feedback and accuracy.

I'm not so sure it will be ultimately be worthwhile here. Sure to the accuracy purists and diehards like you and me and of course at the offset plenty are "fix or no buy". At least judging by their mock-up, I'm not overly enthused that it is going to make a better looking piece.
Customers are a fickle lot. Once a piece is shown in full conclusions are made and then well first impressions and all that. Not sure the change will really move the needle with sales. This is going to be the #1 Venom 1/4 statue other than those considering the 1/5 comiquette as 1/4 scale.

If this is the photoshop of what they have decided to try for real, it kinda looked better with 3/6 legs.

Agreed. Fix the issue with the same attention to detail as an artist would. Don't skimp out on the fix now.

I believe this too. SSC will come through.

X-Force Psylocke sell out still angers me all these years later. Mostly bc of the superior head which was included with that version.

Oh wow, miss a few days and a lot goes down! I’m just becoming aware of this whole #leggate thing. Glad it’s working out though!

I would’ve been on it, but we all know that sideshow’s response was a cop-out.

I’m pretty sure that’s not Eddie Brock, that’s Mac Gargan as Venom in Thunderbolts. Mac had a few different looks as Venom. He shouldn’t count for this statue anyway since it’s not Eddie. And his logo was mostly different anyway.

Lol, yeah, the fact sideshow made references to various artwork that’s either
1. Drawn wrong
2. Colored wrong
3. Artists just didn’t have the space in a small panel to make it happen (in the art above the 2nd & 3rd legs converge into one leg anyway, there’s only 2 coming off the body and the other side has no legs)
4. Not Eddie Brock, outside of Peter and Eddie the symbol usually changes depending on who Venom bonds with (ie Fortunato, Flash Thompson, Dylan Brock, currently MJ) at this point Venom is a doorknob

…it’s good they went ahead and fessed up to the mistake.
