Employment Insurance
I was wondering what benefits were like in your regions.
Currently, in Montreal, a single claimant who has qualified for the maximum amount and duration of regular employment insurance benefits will receive $501 per week for up to 42 weeks (or $21K total) while actively looking for a new job.
While hardly great, it does provide a minimum of income to keep you going.
