Mad Max Fury Road is a good car chase movie. But TLJ is a slow speed car chase movie.

Some cool tidbits...at least now we know how a few bolts fried Vader. We also know where Palp was spending time before the Death Star visit.

My criticisms....

1. Finger lightning in space.a bit much.
2. Bad flashback CG
3. Cult people?
4. No son of palp would be getting away let alone starting a family. Palp got baby mama somewhere and I don’t see that either.
5. Lando kept smiling like he couldn’t believe he was doing SW again.
6. The “find out where you’re from” comment at the end. unnecessary.
7. The “you wouldn’t understand” jab at Poe. Not cool.
8. I didn’t get the feeling these people were friends.
9. Everyone’s force healing.
10. Knights of Ren died faster than Palp taking down the Jedi council.
11. Palp should have learned by now not to shoot lightning bolts back into his own face.
12. Planet killing star destroyers. They need to stop.
13. Wakanda forever moment.
14. Very magicky hocus pocussy. I like the force stuff to be a bit more subtle.
15. Kylo giving his life was a bit drastic for who he was a few hours earlier.
16. Troopers took bad aim to next level. Tha5 scene in hallway where the6 were shooting down troopers...no element of danger. Like, Finn was one of them. His aim should be just as bad.
17. Snoke clones?

Some favs...

1. The Kylo hunt for Palp at the start. Badass.
2. Return of emperors guard
3. Respect the Jedi weapon.
4. I liked seeing Han.
5. Good Rey Kylo chemistry.
6. Dignified end to Leia.
7. Showed respect for Chewie loss. Also finally got his medal. Very cool.
8. Rise of the last order fleet.
9. Light speed jumping. Fun.
10. C3PO handled well. The droids live on. Would have been kinda cool if the new backup upload made him remember everything before his original memory wipe in prequels.
11. Returning to Death Star ruins...not sure what planet that is though...
12. Rose was a backup, not a main. She sucks.
13. Seeing Palp again. I don’t really care how he’s alive.

It wasn't half bad...

Sidious died like punk again... why can't he stop his lightning throw when it turned against him...

I would expect a long duel between Reylo and Sidious... you brought back Sidious, one bad ass light saber user for the last time... why don't you have that god damn duel... instead darth sidious died like punk by his own force lightning... so dissapointing.

I loved D-0. Rey's training under leia in the forest was nice... at least she's not that much of marry sue anymore, she actually trained. I liked how luke trained Leia but didn't like leia beating luke, too much girl power... ok, all the power to girls but Luke supposed to be most powerful jedi ever.

Man preach it! People always try to disparage the fans who sustained this franchise through the times when there wasn't a movie every six months or a new show or heck a new novel. These people care and gave this Disney Trilogy a fair shake. Heck IMHO more than fair. TFA is pretty much universally loved and it was brushed a side that is was just a shiny inferior remake of ANH. There was nothing but praise for it. TLJ just killed momentum. Now TRoS is left to "wrap everything up". Frankly it did at all costs. But my issue is that there was so much of this just lazy writing and directing. The Chewie fake out. WTF!!!?? An actual impactful moment adding some emotional weight in the Final chapter of this 40 year Saga. Syke! So before I go further off the rails all fandoms have their toxic elements but for the most part Star Wars fans just care. They care about the characters and the Universe in which these stories are told. They care enough to be critical of the thing they love.

Maybe, just maybe in a few years, sans Kathleen Kennedy's influence, they can go back farther to Old Republic and start again, enough whacko mega force powers and convoluted nonsense, films so poorly thought out or so bad the next one has to do damage control for half a movie or cook up more BS to keep the ball rolling and toss in enough nostalgia content to claim it's still the SW brand.

So at the end of the movie, when all of the Jedi are speaking to Rey, how come we hear Obi-Wan as both Ewen AND Alec? I mean, I understand it's fan service, but it doesn't make sense from a story perspective? Shouldn't it have just been Alec because that's the age Obi-Wan was when he passed away? Of course, we shouldn't have had Hayden speaking either then. They would have needed to dig up the guy that played Anakin in ROTJ (is he still alive?).

Yeah, I don't remember all the force ghosts coming out to support Luke when he took on the Emperor... The whole scene was stupid...

All it did was make Rey look weak like she couldn't do it herself...
