First I compared it to the pics to make sure I had the lightning turned the right way, then after two or three attempts, it slid right into position no problem, without affecting the statue itself.

Yeah I can’t figure out if I’m not putting it in right or if the pvc is bent and not letting it sit correctly. It’s really no big deal, it still stays about where it should.

If I'm looking at your pics correctly, it looks like the lightning needs to be spun left or counterclockwise, if you're looking at him from the front.
What's coming out from behind him should be on his right if that's making sense. Unless you already tried that. I can't take great pics with what I have, but later I'll at least try and take a close-up of my base and lightning.

They seem to be all in for Marvel and the Avengers lately.
Might be a while. Doomsday was the exclusive for that wave. Martian Manhunter, Batman & Robin, Poison Ivy, and Mr Freeze are the rest.
Can't complain though. I just got Bane, CR Superman, and Black Adam all within a few weeks of each other.
