Sideshow shipping charges are really expensive too, well, money I'm going to save I guess...I don't think this move by Dc direct is smart.

A lot will depend on how much of a discount Sideshow offers to European comics shops.

It may actually be cheaper to buy from amazon.es. I just searched for "DC Comics estatua" and "Diamond Gallery estatua". Prices seemed reasonable.

Looks like Todd McFarlane did more than take over distribution of DC's statues and action figures. He's also making affordably priced plastic statues based on movie designs. They're 12-inches tall but not quite 1/6 scale. They're also $40 each, which makes them cheaper than Diamond Select's PVC statues.

Welcome back!!! I had to double take on the dates!

Very nice points and comparisons. I'm liking the pricing and quality, but the scales so far have been disappointing. I'm hoping that they will eventually get back to full 1/6 statues again.

I think the resin ones are actually full scale 1/6, but there's little online chatter about them. I don't think it's DC or McFarlane's fault, though, as I thought that the character designs for The Batman were atrocious. I loathed that movie.

Yeah, lots of McFarlane figure fans came over, so that seemed to skew the discussion more to figures.

Although I loved The Batman film and the designs, I couldn't really get with those pieces. They feel too much like action figures than statues.

Speaking of... why didn't you care for the film and designs?

I thought it was just an ugly, miserable movie that tried to out-Nolan the Nolan trilogy for no discernable purpose. It was so repetitive in style, tone, and story of the Nolan trilogy and brought nothing new to the table.
