Both popularity and sculpt matter.
People know Bane. He’s fairly popular. People love the sculpt.
More people know Magneto. He’s been around a lot longer, has been the focus of more media, has a more recognizable and consistent look...the sculpt is criticized around the forum world but obviously beyond the minority group of forum members people like the sculpt.
Everything is expensive now. Anything larger or taller even more so.
But Thor is even more popular. He’s a PF not a maquette so engineering wise he probably wasn’t as hard to create as Magneto (unless maquette really is a senseless term). Unless there’s other factors we don’t know about from an ability to produce standpoint, this will likely have an ES above 1000.

^ That’s a good guess. Almost identical to the Wolverine v Hulk maquette.

I'd like to see that too. I think we have a good chance since this is such an amazing & well received piece.

What engineering? They use the basic idea of pouring concrete. Just reinforcing a piece with smaller bars.
The so called “engineering doesn’t matter when production is so mediocre. Look at Thanos on Throne.
I’m not trying to be snarky, just saying. There is nothing so crazy to call a piece a PF vs a Maquette, unless it’s the scale.

I hate that Sideshow has everyone on this "engineering" kick now. It's like they sent a rep here to say it and now every other thread you see people mentioning the engineering behind a piece as if they've recently spent millions on R&D to put steel in their polystone. They've been doing it for as long as I can remember, but now we pay extra?

They mustn't explain anything cause apparently people are willing to pay 600-700$ for PF. But explanation about engineering, development process etc. sounds better than - "Hey, we make price like that cause we can. People will whine on the forum but after a while come to our site and click Preorder or Buy now".
Don't know much about the process but i think they make about 100% profit compared to production cost. If there is a demand so why should they stop price raising.

If you can get better value for your 680 dollars by all means, no reason for them to stay competitive if the price isn't competitive.
