The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Yes. Sending out a check as soon as I get back from vacation. I was surprised at how quickly Al replied.

I spoke to him yesterday and he told me he is still working through email requests. I know this process is not as fast as we may be used to but I don't have any doubt that he will get to everyone that has an inquiry out. He said that this has drawn out some people that aren't really serious and he has to work to filter them all out. As an example - he got a commission request that the person said yes to and then asked to send some books along for signatures. After saying he would consider it (he doesn't do this over the mail) the requester then backed out of the commission but still wanted the signatures.
Did you send in a request Ken?

Yeah I e-mailed him back on 7/24 but haven't received a response yet.

Guys,
Coming from a dude who's commissioned more than his fair share from Sal, my advice to you would be to hang in there. Al does indeed have a certain way of doing business in order to weed people out who could potentially be wasting his time. He's not doing it to be cruel, it's just his way. I remember during my first few commissions I had to really stay on him in order to get it started, but he ALWAYS came through once I paid. Drop him another email, be polite, and stick to it.
To the gentleman who said that he sent a check, I would suggest contacting Al again to see what the status is. I do know that he will sometimes wait to cash checks if he has a surplus of them coming in. Since the podcast hit he has indeed had said surplus.
I know this isn't too much help, but thought I would add my 2 cents.

I'm assuming all is good. The second email Al sent was to give me mailing address and what type of pose I wanted along with whether I wanted it personalized. I replied with payment on the way along with description. Seemed like all was good. I guess I can keep checking to see if the check gets cashed.

Thanks lox450. I'm just going to wait and see if he responds. If he doesn't, no harm no foul. I'm hesitant to chase him down to take my money.
