DOKODEMO ARTFX Discussion

Our product development team would like to get the forum's opinion about our new "DOKODEMO" product line.

DOKODEMO means "everywhere, anytime" and the premise is that you can take and display your favorite characters in a number of different settings including home and work.

Our first release will be Pennywise from IT (1990) rendered in 1:6 scale as he emerges from a tile floor. The height of the sculpt is roughly 3.5 inches tall, construction is PVC & ABS and the suggested retail price is 64.99.

How would you rate your interest with DOKODEMO IT and the line in general? If the SRP were to be adjusted for future releases what range do you feel would justify a purchase?

Let us know your opinion!

Well, being honest here.

I have zero interest in It, Pennywise, or horror pieces.

I have very low interest in what appears to be a busts concept.

Happy for folks that want this and do enjoy a lot of what Kotobukiya does, but this isn't for me.

I could see myself getting one of these for the right properties/characters. I think Batman 66 would fit right in. Definitely would be interested in a Julie Newmar Catwoman.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I do not love horror pieces personally, especially It/Pennywise. Not interested one bit in this first one at all. For the concept overall, I actually prefer a more formal base. I don't love how this one just kind of exists in a puddle on the horizontal plane.

The informality of Pennywise's base gives it a happy-meal toy feel, versus actually feeling like a piece of art. It lacks sophistication to me due to the base, and surface textures, like the shine on his fabric sleeves.

I would say the price point is a bit high for something that has a less than high end feel to it as well.

Make non-horror female characters (unless it's Elvira) and you could possibly change my mind, but if they are all in this vein I'm super out.

I think the concept is good but i feel the execution of Penny Wise isn't. Sculpt and paints look flat.

Interested to see what comes next though.

Personally they don't interest me, but I have been enjoying Kikakuguy on Twitter doing the little videos with Pennywise!

They'd be cute little decor pieces for your work desk for sure.
