How do I find out current owner for a XM piece to transfer ownership?

Hi all,

I am planning to buy a XM piece. I will be the third owner for this piece and would like to transfer the ownership to myself.

However, when trying to register the product on XM website, the error I get is 'Error: This product code has been registered before.'

The current owner has lost touch with the original owner and can no longer contact him.

Any idea on how should I get this ownership transferred to me or is this a non-issue?

I mean unless you somehow have a way of finding the original owner, I don't see it as being possible.

I doubt it matters though, if you're going to be the 3rd owner I'd say it's pretty likely it's out of any kind of warranty period.

It's the mag piece and I just wanted to be extra cautious and verify ownership and it's authenticity considering the price tag.

I guess since the product code matches up and can be verified, that is a good sign.
