An emergency happens and few are able to have the tools on hand to take care of the emergency. It's like not having a fire extinquisher in a building.
Horrible day.

I agree, we should license bank tellers, theater owners, bartenders and waitresses, pilots, bus drivers, school principals and teachers, hell everyone over 18 should be licensed to have a gun.

Airline pilots already can do so if they choose the training, so that has been the case a while.
Sadly the funding for that training is under attack, which blows my mind.

crazy bastards are unfortunatly out there, i do hate the implecations this will have for the rest of us though, i can totally see an insane amount of "security" added to the movie going experience now, 1 nut with a gun snaps and now the rest of us will have to get a pat down every time we want to see a movie.
and maybe i'm just a terrible person but the first thing i thought of when i read this is that it's an avengers fan trying to keep the Batman box office numbers down

That is a bit extreme, as a gun owner I know they aren't for everybody, but I agree more people should take the time and get trained to use a gun. I am waiting for all the anti gun rhetoric.

Well, I'll donate to these folks families, as there is little else I can do now. And I WILL see this film as I planned. I will not let some s*** stain of a human being dictate what I do with my life with fear.

Honestly, it was the pro-gun rhetoric that came first.
