So just to let everyone know, one of the electric fence posts was damaged when I received my diorama. I contacted IS and asked for a replacement. I have just received it today. They shipped it almost immediately and it arrived within days. I’m very impressed with the customer service. IS scores 10/10 for quality customer service in my opinion.

Yeah it’s a bit silly isn’t it, haha. My worry is one flipping the wrong way round and it being blank on top. I’m half considering glueing them into a small arrangement. Although they’re a little too thick to look very screen accurate anyway.

Also, I’m over a month in trying to get a resolution on the damage to my Explorer. I’m hoping for a decent portion of the shipping back at least given the FedEx guy recommended I sign for it as damaged as there were two large holes in the house box.

MODIFICATION AND REPAIRS

Well after getting my diorama which arrived damaged, I have given it to a model maker of mine who is going to add some additional touches and also repair the damage. T Rex teeth, pylon, car etc. Here is the update with more to follow for those who may have similar issues or wish to add some nice touches etc.

"Many bits needed work in order for it to fit together.
Pylon didn’t fit into the holes in the base parts, so they were sanded to fit.
The wires were glued back into the end post and threaded through the rings.
I checked the movie to see how the wires looked in the scene and then started to bend them into position. It took ages to get them to look like gravity had some effect on them as the diameter of the steel cable makes it really hard to get it to droop correctly. I got something close to the movie cables, but it is impossible to get the nice “drooped over the wall” look. Once it is assembled in your home I can work on the bends to get them more natural looking.
The pylons were glued together on the tops where they were cracked a bit. However, I couldn’t get the worst one to align properly so made it solid in its bent position, which actually makes it look like the fence has been destroyed more. (It could be that the model actually has a bent top, ill check the other builds.
Also in the movie there is a cable through the very top rings on the pylons (it hangs down almost vertically in the movie) so I have used some bicycle cable for this. It still needs finishing off at the end ring.
I airbrushed some weathering to the base potions of the fence and around the bases of the pylons and added some to the tops and also each cable (to remove the bling effect of the silver). Its hard to see in the images, but makes a much nicer display in the flesh.

One thing really sticks out is the T Rex. The paint job is really sketchy and simple considering its the main part of the display. Don’t know if you want this enhancing to bring it into line with the original, but it could be a good idea.
Also the foliage isn’t as bad as I thought, although there are many spaces on the base where they are pushed into the holes which looks a bit crappy. If you like I can see about filling these holes with some other small bushes and bits.

Other than that, its pretty good.
Its a big one though, 57cm high, 1.7 meters long, and 57cm deep (if its on a rectangular surface) so have a look at where you want it to go."
