Is he Marvel's version of Swamp Thing?
If anything, it's the other way around.

Me too pavehawk and I was actually able to buy him from an online store in Canada for $100 less than what SS originally wanted (after he was long gone from SS) so there was no international shipping for me too. Also shipping from the next province was around $18.00. I couldn't believe my luck.

this is a very nice piece though, impressive sculpt worth the money over some of the other common offenders imo

So much this. I just started collecting, but everything I have is a grail. Because I'm not buying or keeping it if it isnt. Its such an open term.

For instance, Dr. Doom and Thor are widey considered grails. I dont like either of them. Not at all. Doom to me is very plain, and the cloth robes just really ruin it. Thor is simply to thick. He almost looks fat. I think Conan fury of the beast is a grail. Awesome sculpt, paints are on point for mine. And there are some that imo, can be turned into grails. I dont like SS's Colossus due to the suit. If I were to find one really cheap, I could try and say, pay Vincevell to sculpt and paint the suit. If it turned out as good as his Harley Quinn's are, then that Colossus turns into instant grail. Others may disagree with everything I just said, and thats why grail is a hard term to nail down.

On this note, I dont own that Man Thing. He does look really, really good. I dont care much for the character, but if I did like him as much as I do Thor or Batman, he would have the grail qualities that I require.

Agreed 100%.
For sake of simplicity I always assume that when people speak of "Grail" they just mean "a piece that now worths (or seems to worth) a s**tload of money more than retail on the secondary market". It's easier.

I couldn't disagree more regarding Dr. Doom being plain. It's probably the most ornate 1/4 statue SS has ever produced.

Fixed. The throne is a work of art. Doom himself is not that much of a figure. That said, anyone has his opinion of course.

Yeah, I dont begrudge those that think the original Doom is great. I'm sure there are some I really like others would dislike. Part of the game.

I agree though, the throne is nice, but the figure itself just does nothing for me.
