Facebook sales

Hi folks,

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere or if there is a more appropriate section to post it.

Considering doing a Facebook deal for an expensive item. Does anyone have experience with this? How do you insure you don't get ripped off. I believe I have heard the sellers name before (Singapore based) so I assume he's a reputable dealer.

Thanks

D

I highly recommend the following Two things: Research the sellers reputation and Use Paypal linked to a credit card (preferably Amex).

Do your homework!

"I believe I have heard the sellers name before (Singapore based) so I assume he's a reputable dealer." does not qualify as homework in my opinion.

Get people that you personally know to vouch for the seller.

Pay so that your payment is protected.

one would think the facebook sales threads, being there are no 10% ebay fees sellers would like to offer somewhat of a deal to entice the buyer...absolutely not.

almost every single statue for sale on those stupid facebook groups are more expensive compared to eBay. It's mind-numbing.

Priced to sell, ($50 more than ebay) does not include 3% paypal or shipping fees...give me a break. clowns, they're all clowns

I am out of all of these groups because of that, never bought something there and was in those groups from the beginning.

I bought the Daniel Bel Captain America PF and the Aspen PF, both EX, for very reasonable prices in facebook groups. Both purchases went absolutely smooth, Aspen was even brand new.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Its an XM Hulkbuster that I'm trying to get so there aren't too many of them on Ebay at all, let alone at a reasonable price....
