So, I don't get I guess. Is sculpting capes really that hard?

Thank God XM is doing Emma. She'll be fully sculpted.

No. However, keeping a statue with a bulky sculpted cape upright over time seems to be a challenge for sideshow.

Apparently sculpted capes are difficult to produce, which would explain why SS opted for the fabric route.

Fine, don't sculpt the capes (still a cop-out IMO). But use better material. For the prices being charged, why not use something like Iron Studios does for theirs?

I'm hoping they finally do emma justice, so much so that even you won't be able to resist even with the mix media.

Nah, cuz I have an alternative.
But, you bring up a good point (or maybe I made this up in my head). A bunch of these ladies are also being done by the competitor, so for a lot of us, it will give us the chance to see both versions and pick the better one.
For example, maybe I can stick with XM for Emma since she'll not have fabric, but as for Mystique, I can see Sideshow doing her in all sculpt, as she would look ridiculously stupid in a white fabric dress, so I could potentially skip the XM Mystique and save some money.
