Aussie Convention Scene Changes

Well, it appears that there have been some changes in the local convention scene which some of you may already be aware of.

Essentially it appears that what was previously known as Armageddon Melbourne is now under separate/private ownership and has been renamed as the "Australian Movie and Comic Expo" - http://www.amcexpo.com.au/

Armageddon has departed our shores and focussed on their NZ shows and has also been renamed as NZ Comic Con - http://comiccon.co.nz/

However, given the close relationship between the 2 shows, they will likely share guests.

I've always disliked the name Armageddon. Why would I want to go to an event that spells the end of the world? Also, what's the deal with airplane peanuts?

1 - be thankful you don't have Wizard Australia (yet - Bwwaaahahahah)

2 - aren't Australia and New Zealand the same thing??

3 - how can an entire continent's convention scene be described as "local"?

4 - who is coming to Heroes Con 2015?

1 - Indeed.

2 - Nah - the ratio of sheep to people is far higher in New Zealand.

3 - With the relative scarcity of cons, we think nothing of flying upwards of 5 hours to go to one if we want to see someone. So yeah, everything is considered 'local'.

4 - Wish I could, but unlikely for next year.

So true, for Aussies it's either 'local' or 'international'. If this is anything like Armageddon in the last few years, it'll be any easy pass from me.
