Yeah another show we get to watch women bash men

Although some of the men deserve it but unfortunately it's become a witch hunt... Any guy who's ever given a woman a hug or pat on the back, they're coming for you next....

Regarding the actual movies nominated, the only best picture candidate I have yet to see is The Post. I found it hard to connect with Phantom Thread, but that may have been just the mood I was in at the time. I do acknowledge that it looked immaculate and the acting was stellar. As of right now, my best picture vote goes to Dunkirk.

A Marvel movie gets a special effects nomination every year so seeing Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 on the list is no surprise. What is a surprise is seeing Logan nominated for best adapted screenplay. Comic book films usually aren't given the time of day outside the technical categories for these kinds of awards. I thought there was more award buzz for Wonder Woman, but it got shut out.

I'm a little Disappointed Blade Runner isn't up for more as well as Wonder Woman.

It's all moot, all the nominations are based on studios politicking to get their movies the nominations... That's why I don't bother to watch award shows anymore.

I really don't care for awards shows but this semi shock WW was shut out is a little crazy to me. WW was a good movie but even as a WW fan people got carried away. It was a good movie but was (to me) no where as good as Logan. And its not like it went somewhere new and exciting with comic movies. Frankly Blade Runner 2049 not getting more recognition is shameful. All that being said I love the movie but there are a bunch of movies I love that I don't think are Oscar worthy. Although the last time i attempted to watch as many nominated movies as possible I discovered that actual entertainment wasn't a priority for an Oscar.

Coco will 100% win best animated movie.

Of the best picture nominations, I've only seen Dunkirk and Shape of Water. They were both good but neither seemed like winners.

Thus why I hate awards shows. I enjoy WW immensely I just think Logan is a better movie and really a different type of movie. Your opinion is no better or worse than mine. Art is subjective sometimes wildly. To me these shows are where rich people pat themselves on the back and pontificate to us lowly commoners.
