Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - 8.5/10

The closest we have come to a great Doc Savage movie. Love this flick. Not sure what happened w/ Director Kerry Conran, brilliant director who just seemed to have moved on.

The Shining (1980) - A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where a sinister presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from both past and future.

I watched this again on a 4K projector while it was snowing outside. Beautiful. 10/10

Double-feature at home:

Black Panthers (1968) - A short film of interviews and protests at a rally to free Huey P. Newton.

A good, albeit brief time capsule from director Agnes Varda. 7/10

Judas and the Black Messiah (2021) - Bill O'Neal infiltrates the Black Panther Party per FBI Agent Mitchell and J. Edgar Hoover. As Party Chairman Fred Hampton ascends, falling for a fellow revolutionary en route, a battle wages for O'Neal's soul.

Definite Oscar contender here. 9/10

MIDSOMMAR Directors cut 9/10

One of the most creepy, tense and beautifully shot movies I´ve seen.
Totally unexpected...

Nomadland, 8/10 - It is on Hulu. Worthy watch for the cinematography alone. At the same time, I don't think it is a masterpiece (as some critics are claiming).

yeah, I would say a 7/10 for me. It was interesting to watch but it seems more like a series of random happenings than a story sometimes. Interesting as most of the people seemed like they were really just people and not actors.
