Are hot toys action figures or actual statues?
I'm confused as to what material and weight hot toys are?
Are they in fact just high end action figures since they have moveable appendages?
I think their quality and likeness is second to none, but I think I'm more into the cold cast porcelain true "statues" vs action figure style
I'm new to this whole world and trying to figure it out all out, but I know I love the feel and weight of a cold cast porcelain statue.

1/6 scale figures.
I have both statues and 1/6 scale.
I like the 1/6 scale for movie/tv characters and statues for comic characters.

Hmm, maybe as my collection and interest matures I'll get into the figures, like I said their likeness is uncanny.
But I'm all about statues right now.
Thanks for the info.

If it's Poseable then it falls under the action figure title - at least that's what I've always assumed. Asp flats it seems more collectors are turning their interests to action figures over statues.
For me, I'm all about statues over the figures.

Enjoy what you collect. Just don't listen to the folly that polyurethane resin is more valuable than the ABS and vinyl used in figures. They are both just types of plastic. And the mineral addtive to cold cast porcelain or polystone is also inexpensive.
What make statues cost more often times is the labor time that goes into making them since they are often in much lower quantities than figures and there is little automation with statues (lots of hands on work). I am curious how much automation versus manual labor is in Hot Toys figures or other high end figures because they are far from cheap.

Yeah, this is my preference too, though I'm not sure why. I don't think I even realized it until I read this post.
