The cloak is definitely not the best part of the statue, it looks too crude, with little detail, and is heavy. And it is covering nice looking parts of the statue as well.
If you want thouhg you can still get another one at normal price, or you can go for the EX version.

I was actually thinking about getting a custom leather cloak made, and just throwing away the old one!

I believe they shifted all attention to 1/6 scale lines (the DC line and Wei Ho's statues). Probably they can earn more on those due to lower cost and higher ES. Hopefully Yamato will return to 1/4 resin some time in the future.
