how to store your WIP in between sculpts? (noob question)
okay so i've seen some people wrap their WIP sculpts in bags. . . so my question is whats the best way to store your WIP?
i'm going on a hunch and saying poly bags would be best resort, but again i haven't even started sculpting so i wouldn't know.
can someone help me out on this, maybe show some pics of best way of storing a WIP

it really depends on the type of material you're using doesn't it?

Well, if you haven't even started sculpting yet and this is the top question on your mind, then I'd have to say you're prioritizing very poorly. Try coming up with a sculpt first, not trying to figure out what to do with many which have yet to be WIPs. At this rate, you won't have to worry about multiple sculpts, as you so far don't have even one to worry about.

i already know what i want to do and why would i start sculpting something without knowing how i am going to store it?
i think i am prioritizing pretty well. i'm not going to start something with out having step 2 already in line. . .

ok, no need to get into a debate here.. Its not a silly question to ask, but we still need to know what type of clay you're using!

so to re-cap
1) i already know what i am going to sculpt
2) i already have the necessary reference art needed
3) already have the tools needed
4) goin to set up my base/stand and armature
still don't know about materials but i will get that ironed out as soon as i get to the art store.
i hope this clears the air for the people who don't know whats going on, and if it doesn't then i don't know what more else to say
all i care about is just knowing how to store the piece in between sculpts, so if you know how or have any tips and tricks then please feel free to inform me.
thanks in advance.

like i said i've never done a sculpt so this is my first one and all the reading i've been doin the past few months havent really explained anything so im just trying to learn the most i can.
i figured i'd just ask questions at the art store as far as whats the best clay to use

hm.. I've only handled sculpey a couple of times in the past, and I'm more reliant on Chavant oil-based clay than I am on polymer clay. Perhaps someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but for sculpey over time, some of the oily component in it leeches out and it sort of hardens. You can re-condition it after, but it needs to be worked into the clay. I would say to put the parts in poly bags like you said, and then into a sealed/covered box, but really depends on how long it is between each time you work on it. I think short term/constant work doesn't really warrant storing?
Maybe someone else can chime in on this

You don't really need to do anything SS beyond keeping it from certain plastics and paper products.
It will melt some plastics over time and paper will wick SS dry.

Another question : super sculpey (pink and grey firm one) are conditionned in thin cardboard boxes. Is it better to stock it in hermetic plastic box? (as i've just read that paper make it dry)
