The Saint Patron of Fracking and Mega Mining

I am not a “protestor” kind of guy, in fact I pretty much give a damn to what is going on outside the four walls of my workshop, but sometimes you have to feel the storm slapping your face to wake up. And that is what is going on at my Chubut Province, in Argentina. Our politicians and the mining companies are doing the impossible to open the fracking business in our territory, and you know what fracking and open sky mining mean to the enviroment and health. People started to protest in the streets againts fracking, I repeat " I am not a protestor kind of guy" and I believe there is no turning back when it comes to politicians-money-screw the people cicle, but I felt I had to at least give my two cents… so I decided to use zbrush in a different kind of way I am used to, not for fun and certanly not for money; so I gathered a couple of assets of my “downloaded” library and some poser things and did a quick sketch of a crazy idea lurking in my mind… A full size statue of Death carrying a blood signed contract with the money symbol in one hand and a blooding gold rock in the other, with a kid dressed as a miner with our province logo printed it his shirt representing our children and the future.
Once the zbrush concept was done, it took me a week to do the full size piece as I wanted to be ready to give it away to the protestor to be carried in their street protests against fracking in the city… I have’t touched “real sculpting materials” in more than 10 years since I discovered zbrush, so it was quit a challenge not only becaue of the materials but also because the lack of time, but I believe it was worthy as it presentation seems to give the impact I wanted in people…
Here I am posting pics of the zbrush concept and some pics from the final full size statue in the street, as a symbol against corruption and fracking
The statue will remain in the protestor hands from now on.

Those who encourage fracking care little about the well-being of this planet and those who live on it. All these companies earning millions thanks to this gangrene are all deadly companies.
In Mongolia, shamans ask forgiveness from Mother Earth when they dig a hole.
Any initiative - including a statue - to remind us that we must respect this Earth that sustains us can only be welcomed.
