HONEST critisism of art

ok soo I am curious do people want honest criticisms on the art they post or want everyone to just be like sheep and say Nice piece etc. Sorry but I see plenty of pieces that to me just dont deserve the praise that they are given (including pieces I post). yeah I know most of you thing it should be better to say nothing that say anything negative. But if you don't give an artist constructive criticism how will they learn from their mistakes??

I am NOT trying to earn "ASSHOLE" but at times I think its better to tell the truth...

If people post art, they shouldn't shy from critiques of it; just my opinion. I would think this holds true especially if something you think is "off" about the piece is echoed by others, so you know you're not just smokin' dope artistically. Probably best if you mention that you don't mind negative critiques, though... if you post art and just want praise, don't be surprised by posts from people who dislike the piece.

You can praise a piece overall, while being critical of certain aspects of it.

That being said, I have yet to see a Hulk piece that warrants negative criticism.

How do you give constructive criticism to the person who's paid for, received, and is sharing the art that they're happy with? If it's correctable, sure. But most of time, the piece people come here to share is finished and accepted.

Unless of course it's an artist asking for critiques. That's a different story.

i dont think we should criticize others art, were not art critics. If someone pays for a piece of art and enjoys it, thats all that matters.
However if someone wants both positive and negative feedback they could say when they post a piece.

That's probably the best route to take, for sure.

Gerry I have to disagree we all pay for art that makes us art critiques in my book. What makes someone an art critic? that they work for a fancy magazine etc.. BZZ I call nope its people who collect and admire the work that are the real critics.

A "nice" and a "looks great" is hardly butt kissing. And you're right, I see you're not trying to earn "ASSHOLE" but that's only cause you've already got it tattooed on your forehead.
