They made an announcement on Facebook the day before it went up for order.

The Koto rep stated earlier in this thread that this was supposed to be "made to order" but didn't mention a cutoff for ordering. From the look of things, the window to get one wasn't very long.

Technically it was "made to order" but there are certain MOQ (minimum order quantities) that must be achieved before it can be sent to the factory. That MOQ for kotous.com was reached earlier this week and it was decided to cap the pre-order rather than attempting to reach the next MOQ level (which could result in an excess of product on the market).
