Depends on the piece and the switch outs. Some are cool a lot are unnecessary.

I love them. I switch out portraits pretty regularly. Arms, it depends on the piece... but not as often.

I'd personally love all of these as options.

You only need a drawer for switch outs that you actually use regularly. Anything else can go back in the box and stored. Extra space not wasted.

I don't need a switch out base. But it would be cool if we could choose between a large and a small base when buying the statue.

How about a base that comes in multiple parts so you could just use the central "small" base if you wanted, or could use the extra parts to make it a larger "story" base if you wished?

So for example, if it were Mr Sinister then you could have separate DNA pods, or if it were Electro then electrical conductors could be separate.

The parts would all fit together in such a way so it would look like a single big base, but you could just use the parts that you wanted or could fit into your display cabinet.

Basically this. I love them but there’s too many pieces out there with unnecessary switch outs. Then there’s the borderline lazy ones like P1 Bumblebee Optimus and Soundwave where you’re dropping little breadcrumbs on your base or make something that should fit in the statue but doesn’t.

Switchouts can breathe new life into a piece

I recently switched my Mythos Maul to the long-horned rage portrait after having the other portrait in since I got it a couple years ago, and it's kind of made me fall in love with the statue again. Anyone else had this happen with a particular piece?

When it comes to Sideshow PF's and switch out portraits,
it is always reassuring to know that if one portrait has wonky eye's there will always be a back up option.
When it came to Power Girl PF, i had the choice between a portrait with an eye pointing outwards,
or a portrait with one eye pointing inwards

Maybe 3 switch out portraits is the way to go

I think they?re cool enough?that magnet snapping into place is pretty satisfying. That being said, there are times where it gets close to action figure territory. Part of the appeal of statues is the fact that it?s one piece
