Any 2016 art regrets?
Hey all, any of you have any regrets from the year 2016?
A missed auction, missed show, missed commission, or art piece that came out poorly?
My regrets for 2016:
- not getting Noto at C2E2
- not going full for a Jock commission
- not snagging a Mcniven at NYCC

Not really. Maybe the decision not to get on Gary Frank's con list - yeah, definitely that

Mainly: Taking too long to consider four Capullo Bats pages. Thought prices were absurd, so they'd still be there. Nope, all gone lol.
Also: Buying anything non-Batman, as my focus recently changed to published Batman work. That said, ended up selling it all off quite quickly, didn't really take a loss overall, and was able to pick up some incredible Bats pages I never thought I'd own in their place—will post to CAF eventually. All balanced out, and so stops the revolving-door sales!

Going to save this so we can revisit in a couple months.
Looking forward to seeing your new pieces.

Yeah I had one commission that was a massive letdown. Trying to salvage that job.
Some other commissions didn't turn out great but are being redone.
I did something I usually wouldn't do- I sold 4 key pieces and traded 1 piece. That said I'm very happy with what I received in return so no real regrets there.

A bit disappointed with some commissions, didn't think they were worth the money. I still have two commissions outstanding that are fully paid for. One is through a rep so I'm not super worried, the other one is direct from the artist who had decent enough reviews on this board so I thought I had nothing to worry about.
Going to have to dial it back next year or risk burning out entirely.
