My point is that at some point your knowledge has to go beyond the written word, right?

Wolverine and Slade and met one time...and they were pretty much a draw.

Slade has consistantly been shown as a bad-ass in the DCU....and Wolverine is a bad-ass under the right consitions.

Six of one / half a dozen of the other.

No, my point is Slade is gonna get carved up long before he can knock him out. To say that wont happen is the same as saying Wolverine wouldnt land a punch on Slade. All it takes is one punch with the claws.

What about Wolverine's superhuman reflexes and agility? Can he dodge bullets? Yes, at will.




What about Cyclops' Optic Blast? Yes, of course..

Wolverine can't defeat Thor or the Hulk.

Thor's a far better fighter than the Hulk, but the Hulk has incredible healing capabilities. Both men have skin that isn't easily cut, even by Adamantium (notice how Logan always goes for Hulk/Red Hulk's eyes, because he knows he has to attack a vulnerable spot to tip the scales a bit before he can attack his body).

Again.. as always.. regardless of "who's writing it", Wolverine doesn't have super-strength. Yes, his Adamantium claws can cut through almost anything, but he lacks the strength necessary to progress past the initial cut "into the meat" of heroes like Hulk or Thor (or Superman, or Hercules, Namor etc. etc).

If he even had Spidey's strength (10 tons), it would be an incredibly different story, but he doesn't.

I was also just thinking that Slade's armour is made of some fancy "near indestructible" metal also, so where as I'm not saying that it is and strong as Adamantiun (although we can't compare the metals from 2 universes) I could hazzard a guess that perhaps it could take a couple of swipes berfore a clean penetration is achieved (much like with Omega Red's Carbonadium armour).

Plus Slade does have the most incredible reflexes.
