Under normal lighting the base is horrible
If they'd painted most of the base black it would look better

The base is an interesting concept, and by itself looks kind of cool, but depending on the angle, the ship loses some definition due to the similar gray coloring of the base.

That base destroy the piece, looks like the ship is crooked, that curve makes no sense, and the base take too much of the vision of the ship

Only the edges of the base that face the front should be silver, and the rest painted black, to give the impression of speed lines/stars. All silver is a big fail
