He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021)
8/10. yes, it's for kids, but that's probably a good thing, after Revelations. Good story, fun designs, beautiful art and animation. Nothing felt forced.

Dexter: New Blood 7/10
Liked it, didn't love it. Could not stand the Harrison angle.

Rewatched Yellowstone season 1: 8/10
So many cliches, a little bit of lazy writing sure but it’s cool to see all that scenery and Rip is pretty cool.

Squid Game (2021) Season 1
7.5/10
Smashed through all 9 episodes in 2 days
It was better than i expected it to be. As violent as some scenes were, it somehow felt like cartoon violence. I could not help but wonder, what Squid Game would have felt like if it felt more real? - probably too much to take. I watched the English dubbed version, which probably did not help. Maybe Korean language with subtitles might be the way to go.
As well made as it is, the messages contained between the lines failed to feel all that original. That said, i probably will make an effort to watch Season 2

I could not recommend this more highly. Such a great cast, engaging plot, great story telling. It had a cross between a Hitchcock movie feel merged with a BBC mystery with many comedic moments. I binge watched it between New Years and New Years Day and am eagerly awaiting season 2 next fall.

Yellowjackets - 8/10
Am watching Yellowjackets on Showtime. A series I just stumbled upon after seeing a promo-ad on one of their channels at 5am. So much of modern tv is discovered by just accidently just finding it.
Anyhow - It's a time-jump between 1996 & 2021 where we see the now grown-up survivors of a horrific incident & how they're now dealing with it. We flash back to the ordeal which kind of went Lord Of The Flies with a bit of dark occult happenings sprinkled in over months isolated. It's pretty good. I've really enjoyed the 3 episodes I've watched. Could be the next big thing.

Yellowjackets (showtime) 9/10 - Well, I finished the 1st season & am just blown away. The show just kept getting better & better with each episode. The season finale was fantastic. A great mix of mystery, occult, drama & casting, Christina Ricci is both funny & terrifying, (with a touch of Wickerman & Mean Girls). Happily surprised as to how good this show fleshed out.

Yellowstone season 2: 6/10
the writing is definitely slipping. Each character has a recurring theme to them and they never seem to move on. It's also getting a little preachy. Too bad.
