I used to think his personality in P2 was too similar to Murtaugh's in Lethal Weapon, but he really doesn't lean much on the "I'm too old for this ----" vibe in P2. A bit of that comes through when he's hanging with the Jamaicans maybe, but I don't see Murtaugh ever clocking a TV reporter in the face like Harrigan does with Pope. Very satisfying moment!

I agree.
whats funny in the opening gun battle with El Scorpio you see Steve Kahan is part of the Harrigan's LAPD policy force. This is the same actor who plays Captain Ed Murphy in all the Lethal Weapon films. in Predator 2 he has a black baseball cap, only in the film briefly but has a couple of lines. funny Lethal Weapon connection

Hey guys,
Recently I had the good fortune to meet Stephen Hopkins director of Nightmare on Elm Street 5, Ghost and the Darkness, Under Suspicion, and of course Predator 2.
This was an incredible honour and a dream coming true! After we befriended, I have confessed that I have a Predator City Hunter bust that I?d love him to sign. He kindly obliged. He invited my partner and I over to his house to show him the bust and sign it.
Now, few of you may know that I repainted my City Hunter to look more authentic to the film. When Stephen saw the bust his first words were: it looks exactly like the real prop created by Stan Winston Studio. There are no words for me to describe how that made me feel. He signed the bust and we stayed for the afternoon chatting about P2 and films and the world in general. This was an incredible gift from Stephen, something I will never forget. He just kept staring at the bust and say stuff about shooting the film and how much he enjoyed the reunion.
At one point while he studied the bust he said: I haven?t done one of these for a while. (Like genre films).
And I was like: PLEASE DO THEM AGAIN! 😂
I absolutely love this film for it?s daring, brave story, its expanding on the predator lore, and for its most beautiful and imposing predator creature done by SWS.
What a day. Hope you guys enjoy the story as much as we did. Take a look at some of the photos. 😊

Thanks so much!
Oh wouldn?t it be great?! But the truth is, even Stephen admitted that much that he would have a completely different approach to the story, using modern film making technics, and suggested that the predator would be cgi this time for example. It wouldn?t be the same.
I think one of the key elements of the success of the first two films that they were such products of the times they were produced in. These hot shot, hungry young directors were just going in balls deep with the property. They were edgy and brave. One can only hope. But I also don?t think that he would be interested in directing another one either.
