I like the show. But I can’t stand Jack Quaid. He has the same dumb, goofy expression, all the time. Dude can’t act.

Maeve's takedown of his face was brutal. Show doesn't hold back.

I thought the third season was the best so far, and Herogasm is probably the best episode in the whole show.
But I too had some major problems with the last episode, the biggest one being Maeve?s "sacrifice". I thought that scene was rushed and badly filmed, even cheesy at times. Maeve?s motivation was also all over the place. The actress couldn?t film all her scenes due to COVID, which was a problem they faced, but I wish they had changed her arc and brought more character development. The fact that she survived and almost defeated Homelander also made me confused about her power levels.
Ryan is another character that wasn?t really developed and had a major part in the ending. I think this season could have benefited a lot from one more episode before the last one.
I didn?t have a huge problem with the characters turning against Soldier Boy, and I think their motivations mostly worked for me, but the scene could have been better. What I really like is how they are showing that Butcher and Homelander are not so different from each other. The episode had a lot of that in my opinion, with the more obvious scene being they both facing Soldier Boy. My guess is that Butcher will defeat Homelander in the end just to see how he became like him in the process.
And the last scene of the episode was scary and brillant in my opinion. One of the best in the whole show and a good representation of how society behaves in a lot of parts of the world nowadays.

Meant to post back after binging this show a week ago.
Love it. I thought it was starting to jump the shark after season 1, but I actually think the show just suffers from either it's funding/format, or the ADD of today's audience. Show should/could benefit from double the episodes. So many plot points could be slowed down and fleshed out. They really created a universe here that I'm interested in (like Game of Thrones did). I certainly can't imagine this show as a movie, as originally conceived.
But yeah, Herogasm was fantastic! I've watched it several times, and watched that fight a dozen or more times. I love it, and the acting there. Sad now that it only has what? One or two more seasons? Can't believe I passed on this for so long.
Homelander and Butcher are awesome. I don't usually get carried away with wanting statues for really recent properties, but I'd buy one of these two. Has anyone talked about this license?

Was telling my brother before how great of a villain Homelander is. May be my favorite villain since Ledger’s Joker.

He really is. That's part of my small complaint with season 2 and 3 though. They sort of blunted Homelander a little, first with Stormfront, then with the way he's handling Butcher and Ryan, and then with the addition of Soldier Boy.
Each one of those instances introduces a little humanity to Homelander, and I suppose that makes him less two-dimensional, but sometimes you just really want to hate (or love to hate) a villain.
Antony Starr's performance is so good though. EVERY scene he's in, I'm just expecting him to laser everyone. You really get a sense of the fear that everyone around him experiences.

I think it?s only a matter of time until a company gets the license. The series is getting more and more popular.

I think he is an incredible character too and Antony Starr is making a really great job (and he is really funny on Instagram).

Antony was also really good in the series Banshee (on HBO Max), definitely recommend that one.

Homelander is genuinely terrifying.
Big props to that actor.
