Her hips are twisted there so it’s providing an illusion they’re wider than they are. This is a more accurate look.

I’m not saying they should be exactly like that, but they definitely went overboard and made her look like a 21st century ass gym rat.

TBH, I don't even know if that's actually Michelle in that still you posted. It looks like her stunt double Patricia M. Peters. While Michelle did actually do all of her own whip stunts, she did not do all of the acrobatics and back flips.

You're right that isn't Michelle in that still. Blow it up and you can tell. That's why in the actual film it's a very quick shot. So I guess the hips are accurate then.

the jnd piece also has her hips twisting, very similar to the scene where her hips look curvier
