I watched Die Hard last night (something I bought when I got my PS3 back in November yet was just getting around to tonight). I never thought there would be that much difference from standard def to BD, but wow, what a gorgeous movie. That's what I love about BD: seeing things I've never seen before in movies I know so well.

On a semi-related note, while watching it I was struck by just how dated some things in this movie had become. Within the first five minutes:

• A man (albeit a police officer) on a plane carrying a gun
• Smoking in an airport
• Scrunched-up, pointy-toed, white leather boots worn outside of the pants
• Spandex pants (even if they were on Terri Lynn Doss)

Picked up Planet Earth last week and watched one episode so far. Looks awesome even on 720p display.
