Avatar? Over-hyped? Hard to believe considering it's the number 1 at $2.7 billion world wide. I'll admit it's not one of my favorites and yes the story is similar to others (you could say The Avengers is similar to so many other "Earth is attacked by aliens" movies). I think, again many on this forum didn't care much for it, but then we are the minority when obviously so many liked it.

World War Z - 8.5/10
These zombies are among the most fearsome I've ever seen.

I'm not trying to criticize your preference in film, I just don't agree with hype being factored into a movie's rating.

Now You See Me 9/10 GREAT MOVIE! Very original in almost all aspects. Reminded me of the Usual Suspects but with a "magical twist".

Riddick - 3/10
Not a fan of the character - but a group of friends were going to see it so I thought I'd give it a shot. Wish I could get those two hours back.

Side Effects 7.5/10
A clever closing act for Soderberg as a feature film director (maybe)
Strong performances by the cast.
Welcome to the Punch 3/10
I hope this was just a payday for James McAvoy and Mark Strong. They are far too talented to wasted their considerable talent on this uneven, terribly written, poorly directed, waste of film.

Not outstanding as a movie but it was enjoyable enough. A bit silly at times but I suppose that is to be expected and solid performances made up for it.

I really liked how the primary motivator for these beasts was to pass on the pathogen; this one was almost like the ultimate contagion movie rather than a zombie film (which wasn't a bad thing; great flick IMHO)
