Batman & Robin ~ 1/5

I watched it before Netflix removed it after not seeing it since I was a kid. Lets be honest, this film is a complete and utter disaster. Still, there is some heavy nostalgia in this one. The writers must have had a field day with all the witty one-liners they came up with.

It was still horrible though...in a good way.

It basically encapsulates my feelings on (almost) everything New 52: Enjoyable diversion with a couple downright cool parts but not as endearing as what has come before and a huge dose of Cyborg shoved down your throat.
Yeah, I really haven't liked the recent DC animated movies. Son of Batman was just okay and Justice League War was terrible. I'm not hopeful about watching Throne of Atlantis.

Last good ones for me were Flashpoint (9/10) and Assault on Arkham (8/10).

I don"t give out 9's very often but this film deserves it. Bradley Cooper became Chris Kyle. Simply a fantastic performance and Clint Eastwood was in top form as director. The narrative was strongly compelling, surreal, and very moving. A superbly acted and directed film. Highly recommended!
I didn't know Clint Eastwood directed it until the very end. One of his best works. Bradley Cooper and all the actors involved were fantastic. Imagine my surprise that Sienna Miller is more than a pretty face! The movie had me so engrossed that I had to read up on Chris Kyle's story afterwards. Powerful movie. 9/10 about right for me too.

The Boxtrolls (2014) - A young orphaned boy raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors tries to save his friends from an evil exterminator. Based on the children's novel 'Here Be Monsters' by Alan Snow.

This had one of the grossest depictions of lactose intolerance I've ever seen. 6/10

Manhunter - 8.5/10

My preferred film version of Thomas Harris' novel Red Dragon. Michael Mann's trademark visual style is present throughout along with a synth heavy 80's score. Possibly William Peterson's best film performance rivaling 'To Live and Die in LA.' While some liberties are taken with the source material it's much more thrilling than Brett Ratner's 'Red Dragon' despite that film's amazing cast and the continuity of having Hopkins in the role he made famous in 'The Silence of the Lambs' and 'Hannibal'.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Excellent movie plus the tooth fairy is the same guy who played Frankenstein in The Monster Squad and Cain in Robocop 2
EDIT: I just looked it up, his name is Tom Noonan

I saw this recently too - it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I would rate it the same.

Absolutely cracking movie and that final scene with the 'Garden of Eden' playing is one of the all time greats.

Having said that, I still think I prefer Silence over all. Manhunter is definitely grittier and I think more hard hitting though.

I'm planning on watching Silence and Hannibal here shortly too. I think Silence is my favorite as well. I also think Hannibal is pretty underrated. Been a while since I've watched the trilogy.
