Hale County This Morning, This Evening (2018) - A kaleidoscopic and humanistic view of the Black community in Hale County, Alabama.
I very much liked this stylish snapshot of a demographic and part of the country not often seen on screen. 8/10

Halloween movies part 2:
Blood: The Last Vampire (2000) - Saya is a Japanese vampire slayer whose next mission is in a high school on a US military base in 1960s Japan, where she poses as a student. She uses a katana/samurai sword to kill vampires. 7/10
Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) - The centuries old vampire Count Dracula comes to England to seduce his barrister Jonathan Harker's fianc?e Mina Murray and inflict havoc in the foreign land. 9/10
Werewolf by Night (2022) - Follows a lycanthrope superhero who fights evil using the abilities given to him by a curse brought on by his bloodline. 8/10
The Witch (2015) - A family in 1630s New England is torn apart by the forces of witchcraft, black magic and possession. 10/10
I watched Werewolf by Night in color this time. Because of the filter used, I thought it looked just as good as the black and white version. I might alternate between the two going forward every year.
The last time I rated The Witch, I gave it a 9/10, but watching it again now, I couldn't find any flaws. My new favorite Halloween movie.

I too enjoyed watching Werewolf by Night in color. I thought it was just as good as it was in black and white.

I agree - I have watched 3 times now (once in color) and enjoyed every time. Would love to see more of this.

The Wrath of Becky - 6/10. I think the original “Mad Max” was the first revenge flick I saw. Since then, there have been so many. The success of these movies are in the set-up, the person wronged, the caliber of the villain(s), and the execution of the revenge. The Wrath of Becky is good with the first two criteria, lacking in the last two.

The Witch is definitely a masterpiece and a 10/10 movie, one of my all time favorites. Acting, script, cinematography, atmosphere, music, attention to detail, everything just perfect
