Drive Angry (2011)
4/10

Lots of driving, fighting, shooting, over the top action resulting in a live action cartoon feel.
Nicolas Cage helps lift the movie up a notch. Even he at times delivers his lines like he has read them moments before each scene.
I failed to recognize Amber Heard on the cover art. I recognized her as soon as she showed up on screen.
Ultimately, the story is daft from start to finish. Every time something happens, over the top music plays?
CGI amounts to a mixture of ok to poor.
For some reason they used CGI to replicate a breaking mirror, when a real mirror would have done the job so much better.

Longlegs - 5/10. Had some genuinely creepy moments, and Nicholas Cage was great, but the story was a bit lacking IMO.

Maxxxine - 7/10. Not as good as X, but a nice follow up to the trilogy. Did the gritty side of the '80's so damn good.

Copycat - 8.5/10. One of my favorite '90's serial killer movies. Not as good as Se7en, but a damn good watch nonetheless.

Thirst (2009)
7/10

Modern day Korean vampires, that drink blood, have super human strength, can jump great heights, but do not have fangs.
All in all very watchable stuff, but.. it's a very slow movie. It is what it is.

I really like Park Chan-Wook films. Old Boy was so good. Oh soooo goooood. Thrist was really good as well. My kind of Vampire film unlike that piece of crap retarded garbage teenage film, twilight. There is nothing that i hate more than twilight... Man... I wasn't happy when they cast the twilight boy as Batman, but the film wasn't bad. The weakest part of the film was Emo Bruce Wayne as excepted though... But The Twilight boy did a fine job in costume.

I have not watched Twilight. Will probably pass on that.
One of my favourite modern day Vampires without fangs movie is Near Dark. Not watched it for years. I have no idea how well it has aged.

It has been years since I last watched Near Dark also, but I always remembered liking it--in sharp contrast to The Lost Boys which I hated and was released around the same time. Near Dark had then gotten the reputation of being the anti-Lost Boys because the tone of the two vampire films was so different. If I want to watch a vampire comedy (which is rare) I'll stick to What We Do in the Shadows.

I haven't seen any of the Twilight movies. My favorite vampire film remains Sweden's Let the Right One In.

Kinds of Kindness (2024) - A man seeks to break free from his predetermined path, a cop questions his wife's demeanor after her return from a supposed drowning, and a woman searches for an extraordinary individual prophesied to become a renowned spiritual guide.

This didn't hit all the right notes for me like director Yorgos Lanthimos' last movie Poor Things. It's much more unconventional like his earlier films although, like those, there are still a lot of positives in this anthology feature. 8/10
