On Bastille Day:

The Three Musketeers - Part I: D'Artagnan (2023) - D'Artagnan arrives in Paris trying to find his attackers after being left for dead, which leads him to a real war where the future of France is at stake. He aligns himself with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, three musketeers of the King. 8/10

The Three Musketeers - Part II: Milady (2023) - D'Artagnan is forced to join forces with Milady to save Constance, who was kidnapped before his eyes. But as war is declared and Athos, Porthos and Aramis have already joined the front, a secret from the past shatters old alliances. 7/10

I enjoyed the more straightforward Part I a little more than Part II. The fight scenes looked great, often filmed in what looked like long single takes. It's somewhat surprising that after numerous movie adaptations of the classic French novel, this is the first one that is actually in French.

Copland 8/10

Re-watch. Been a while since I've seen this one. Still holds up. I was pleasantly surprised noticing all the Sopranos alumni in this movie.

The Big Lebowski (1998)
7.9/10

Up until now i had only ever watched The Big Lebowski on DVD. Last night i watched The Big Lebowski on Blu-ray.

26 years old. Time fly's. While the movie has aged in places, it still holds up well.
The surreal sequences look great on Blu-ray!

The story was always a big on daft side. The film excels when it comes to the acting skills of the cast.
Jeff Bridges is excellent!.

Hitch Hike To Hell (1977)
3/10

Remastered to Blu-ray, still covered in film-grain/dirt.
I guess to some degree the film-grain/dirt takes the viewer back to 1977 when this type of low budget sleaze was all the rage.

Low budget, lower end of the spectrum acting (i have seen worse). The owner of the cleaning company Mr Baldwin (John Harmon)
and Captain J.W. Shaw (Russell Johnson) were the best the film had to offer.

When i see these types of low budget movies, i feel i could make movies myself.
The type who knocks out a movie in 10 days or less!

Friday The 13th (1980)
6.6/10

Today was the day i checked out the Blu-ray, and the picture quality looks very good.
The last time i watch Friday the 13th was way back during the Vhs era, and i was too young to be watching such a movie.
The fact is, i had forgotten almost all of the movie, bar the scene towards the end that involves the lake, which left me traumatized at the time.
For a 1980's slasher, it holds up well. The special fx still look good.
What i had forgotten was, the fact, excluding two very breif glimpses, Jason never appears during the movie. Not once!
I must have had Part 2 on my mind, which i will pick up on Blu-ray.

Spoiler
As daft as it may sound. I entertained the idea that Jason lives under the water in the lake, possibly never exits the lake.
Jason's mother carried out all the murders seen during the movie. Is that possible? i 'assumed' Jason was the killer?

Jason's mother looses her head towards the end, this event is possibly what it took for Jason to exit the lake, don a hockey mask, and go on a murderous rampage, Aka: Friday the 13th Part 2

Why is it, Jason can spend as much time as he does under water? ..or am i over thinking things?

EDIT: I just did some Googling.. seems i was on the right track.

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
7.6/10

EDIT: I decided to break the score down to:
Action 9.5/10
Jokes 9.5/10
Story 4/10

My expectations were set to an unattainable level.
Other AC/DC's Hells Bells, i found the choice of music not as on par as say Deadpool 2 audio choice.

Most of the fight sequences are great!

The story.. hmm.. i don't know. It holds everything together.
It feels like a very up & down, all or nothing experience.

For the moment, i think Deadpool 2 remains the better movie.
I will need to watch Deadpool & Wolverine a few more times to take it onboard further.

I watched Deadpool & Wolverine at The Kinema In The Woods, an old cinema that dates back to 1922
The main entrance room where they sell ice-cream, popcorn, drinks etc feels like a museum with it's display cabinets,
life-size Dalek, and other stuff including some 1/3 Stormtroopers.

Deadpool and Wolverine: 6/10

Some great cameos. Two of them were cool as hell. Sadly this movie just took the humor up to 11. I know it's Deadpool but they tried way too hard to be funny every single minute and the "heavy" scenes just didn't have the desired effect. The events in this movie will cause lots of conjecture for the future of MCU movies so at least people will be talking about it. Nothing can save the MCU though. My wife loved it and told me I need to get my fat @$$ in the gym and get back in shape. Thanks Hugh Jackman.

I agree maybe a bit too much humor takes away some of the impact of the drama but I was very happy with this movie. 9/10 for me.
