Yeah, I was with Carlos in line. I think they were $160. I agree the price was extremely reasonable. The pieces weren't super detailed, but were very much worth the money. These were the biggest/most complex pieces he was doing b/c he wanted to do as much for the fans as possible. The line was usually only 5-7 deep, and he was taking about 30 minutes per sketch. If you have a friend in line with you, you can each go off and do other things while holding place. That's what we did.

Thanks for the Ivan Reis info. Anyone have any experiences with Matt Wagner or Mike Mayhew at a con?

Yep. Trying to see who I can afford. Neal Adams is definitely out, at his prices. I want to get something from Reis and Nauck for sure and everyone else will depend on the cashflow.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

I would really like to get something from Reis at Motor City. I don't think I can afford anything from Adams,Wagner and Nauck. My weakness for always wanting full figure sketches. Hope the guest list will include more midrange priced artists.

Do you know what Wagner's price range is?

Interesting you say that, I feel Todd nauck is one of the best prices artists out there, especially for what you get. I can't wait til he's near me again.

I got a commission from SGM a few years back (an at-home piece which is a rarity for him) and it was cover-quality. Those ones are $1000+, but I know that his convention pieces (9x12, also really high quality) were $450 I think. I know he auctioned a few off and they landed in this range too. Might seem pricey, but for any of the non-quickie sketch pieces, he really does put a lot into them. My SGM Punisher is one of the best pieces I own period.
