Dallas Comic Con 2010

All right, as you all may know, I was heavily gunning for a Tim Sale sketch of Solomon Grundy. Well, Ansel (Jason), Statman (Paul), and I got there really early. However, we were thwarted of getting one by the early VIP pass guests, who must have taken them all in the 15 minute early entry they were given. DAMN!!!!

But, I did get a free sketch of Batman. And now that I have him in my Bats Sketchbook, I don't have to worry about repeating this experience.

However, I remained positive and new I could get cool art from local artists, and much more of it for the $150 Tim was charging. First up, a Killer Moth from a local artist, Brent Peeples!

Love it!

One of my goals this con was to get a Kirby-style OMAC! I wanted someone who could do this justice, and local artist Tim Chupkai fit the bill. Bad scan, but I totally love this awesome figure he did for me for a mere $5!

I wasn't able to afford Adam Hughes very sky high prices, but I did find John Hughes, a friendly artist who loves drawing X-men. He got me a cool Rachel Grey with the Shi-ar Tattoos:

Todd Nauck, artist of the Obama meets Spidey story, was at the show. I wanted sketch of his, but instead bought a pre-made sketch of Warlock!

Finally, the day ended with an amazing artist who has a penchant for drawing any of the new Lanterns, in this case, Indiglo - 1.
