Actually I used a little torch instead of the heat gun... the striations created on the surface are just amazingly organic looking, so that helps me a bit as opposed to doing everything by hand. I discovered that by mistake... when I completely scorched a project because I wasn't paying enough attention to the flame...
Silputty is indeed a two part silicone, and can be bought via
www.silpak.com make sure you call their Pomona California location, and ask for regular silputty ( the green one) .
