F4F Death Definitive Edition arrived last night. What a great piece overall. The details and paint on him, his skin, his bone armor elements, his scythes, and his claws are all fantastic. The colors are rich, and the textures/holes in the fabric parts are really nice (though I generally dislike fabric elements on my statues, and still would have preferred fully sculpted). But that's just personal preference. The fabric is well done. Packaging, art box, etc, are all top notch!
I originally bought the Definitive Edition, just to get it.... I didn't particularly love the claws, but in person, I think they look amazing, and frankly give the entire statue a better look/composition, IMO. Don't get me wrong, I like the scythes... I just like the claws way more than I thought I would. If you are on the fence, get the Definitive Edition!!
Two minor issues I will point out.
1. Mine has light bleed on his forehead. When it's in a dark room with the light effect on, it looks like he has a tiny third eye on his forehead. Not sure if others have this/if it is intentional?
2. For all the amazing paint application on the Death himseft, the tree on the base is pretty bad. The color, and finish, really make that tree look like something from an old He-Man play set.
Besides that, he's great! Enjoy the pics!
