Dracula (aka Horror of Dracula) - 6.5/10

One of the more renowned Hammer Horror films actually doesn’t top my favorites list but it’s still enjoyable. Setting and mood are excellent as is the cast, despite Lee’s limited screen time. I find the score to be a bit grating and bombastic myself. Had it been more atmospheric I could see me rating this a full point higher.

Do the Right Thing (1989) - On the hottest day of the year on a street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, everyone's hate and bigotry smolders and builds until it explodes into violence.

Spike Lee's best film--incendiary and still relevant today. 10/10

The Shining - 10/10

Quite simply a masterpiece in filmmaking. I don’t care that it deviates from King’s novel as much as it does, Kubrick’s vision is the real draw here. One of the most haunting scores in history and some of the best cinematography put to film. Easily in the mix of favorite Horror films for me and as such I’m beyond excited for the sequel Doctor Sleep to hit just over a month from now.

I totally agree. I'm waiting for the 4K release next week to revisit this.

Safe House (2012) - A young CIA agent is tasked with looking after a fugitive in a safe house. But when the safe house is attacked, he finds himself on the run with his charge.

Mildly interesting conventional thriller. This works well on a flight to pass the time. 6/10
