Sounds like my kinda film if it indeed has that Malick/Kubrick vibe some have claimed.

Rambo: Last Blood - 7/10
Man, been reading lots of hate directed towards this film. I seriously don’t get it. Given it’s more of a revenge pic than a mercenary/war film it has more in common with First Blood than any of the sequels. As such it makes for a nice bookend to the series and feels like a natural progression for the character. Intense violence has always been a staple of the series and Last Blood pulls no punches. If you’re into the franchise I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. If you’re not, don’t go in expecting this to break the mold.

Blazing Saddles (1974) - In order to ruin a western town, a corrupt politician appoints a black Sheriff, who promptly becomes his most formidable adversary.
Is it possible for a movie to be hilariously cringeworthy? No way would this film be made today. 8/10

Started my annual Horror movie marathon. Going to try and watch at least 5 a week leading into Halloween. Started off with...
Candyman - 7/10
The 90’s had some good horror films. Candyman stands out as one of the more original offerings and it holds up quite well. Philip Glass’s score is haunting and sets a very uneasy mood right from the opening credits. Based off a short story by Clive Barker it takes a lot of liberties with the source material but it all works. Probably my favorite film dealing with urban legends. Interesting and unpredictable.
