nothing dated about it. It is an old guy in a mixed media robe. How do you expect them to improve it? And the head sculpts (and paint) are actually quite good (I own the exclusive).

The only negative is the throne...It was not accurate.

As long as Royal Guard this is good, overpriced IMHO but a good representation of the character, it's OT accurate, this is what we know about them from the OT movies, they just stand there guarding. I'm still waiting and hoping for a Sandtrooper, Tie Fighter Pilot and AT AT Driver of course.......

I actually think the pictures look Gorgeous. I've always Loved the Royal Guards' Clean Crimson aesthetic, as others have said, but it IS a lot to pay for mostly fabric.

I already have 2 Gentle Giant Royal Guard busts flanking my GG Emperor bust & 2 Hot Toys Guards flanking my HT Emperor on Throne. I'm going to restrain on this one for now...
(I do want to see how they look in hand...)

Not a bad ES I guess. Was hoping for it to be somehow below 1000 but I figured that wouldn't happen.

Price is still too high IMO, will definitely wait for a deal down the road.
