Sadly, the way eBay/PayPal works today, it allows scamming buyers to switch a broken product for a new one with zero reprcussions save for return shipping costs, even if the edition number isn't the same. Knock on wood, I have yet to run into these whackos.

You should report it to the post office. Make the post office pay for that statue....So you don't have to take that loss. It wasn't damaged when you ship it out, but when the buyer opened it he claimed it was broken....So the post office did it

Yea, jerks all around eBay, that is how I feel every time I sell on eBay, if the buyer want refund, you should take it to the next step with insurance, it's gonna take long time to refund tho, the buyer have to wait for the claim, and tell him it will be a long wait to refund until they refund you, if he can wait, I guess he is playing the game, cause you know you sent a new one, I don't know what else you can do, since he got stupid protection from eBay and Paypal, if you don't do it, he will do it with eBay. I hate eBay!!!

The buyer doesn't have to wait for the refund. He will get his money back from payPal or his credit card company. The seller is left with the broken statue and a claim which may not be filled.

Do what you can to put in an insurance claim.

I always fear this kind of thing happening to me. Thats why I take lots of pics. Even if they manage to get their money back, no way in hell am I getting stuck with a broken statue without someone else paying for it.
