Therefore, the XM Studios team are currently working all from home during this period. Due to the COVID-19 situation, we will be rolling out a new system to help support collectors and to adapt our business to adjust to the current climate. The following updates that we would like to share with you:
1. Final ES announced:
We would like to first update you guys on the final ES for the products that are on MTO basis. Please view the Image above.
2. Pre-Orders on Made To Order (MTO) Basis:
For products that are currently still open for online Pre-Order (PO) with MTO mechanics (Mera - Rebirth, Red Hulk, Lady Death, Thanos), XM will continue to take orders until their designated PO close date. After which the team will release the final Edition Size (ES) for that product and these products will continue to be open for an additional month. This will allow collectors to decide on last-minute orders and have more time to gather the funds or sort our financials to get the product.
A number of collectors have been asking if under the current situation if any of the recently closed PO can be re-opened/extended. As such, we will also be opening online orders for: Batman Rebirth, Deadpool, Harley Samurai for a while more.
3. New System - Fixed ES Mechanics:
You may have noticed that for the past 2 Pre-Orders (Darkseid - Rebirth and Modern Thor) we are releasing a fixed ES instead of the MTO system.
MTO was a system that was implemented in late 2018 and lasted up until March 2020. With the fixed ES system, this is one of the business decisions that the management has taken up to adapt to the current situation, but if it works out well, we will be using it moving forward. The new system means that there will no longer be any 2-month pre-order period. XM has found that the 2 month MTO period delays production time and delivery schedule, as orders are collated after 2 months+. As such, the team has been looking into a new way that can allow for faster production time, meaning collectors can get their products in hand faster. The new system, it will mean that once the team decides on the ES, we can inform the factory and start production while we are collecting orders. Orders will remain live until the allocation is filled. But this works both ways and could also mean that more popular products, could sell out in a shorter timeframe too.
We understand that both systems have pros and cons, but we hope by making this adjustment more collectors will benefit from the process. If you have any input or queries please do not hesitate to ask.

Wow! Some low edition sizes here. Good for the collector though. There are a lot of statues out there and a lot of companies so not entirely surprised. I think a lot of SSC's edition sizes are dropping too.

Yea I thought the same. We know XM are mainly a comic based statue company. Is it time they dabble more into Movie based pieces? Would they sell more?
I have all 4 Star Wars XM pieces because they are movie based and thats all I collect, so I'm very limited with XM pieces. Yet I think they are one of the best statue companies in this business. So I can't buy anymore. I just feel they only satisfy half of the market.
Just my thoughts....
