This year is supposed to be the best so far. I would definitely recommend it for sketch hunters. It helps that its a 4 day con and we went on thursday as i would imagine that to be the slowest. I was able to approach Jim Cheung and commission him and there wasnt even anyone around his table. Freddie Williams had maybe 4 or 5 other artists in his section and again, not a single person walked by when we were there talking to him. Jake has a great corner location right by the Star Wars stuff and im sure Babisu and Achilleas will have done their fair share of sketches by cons end.

In all honesty, today is historically the busiest. Im glad we went early so my kids could enjoy the con without the elbow bumping and nuts to butts traffic that ive experienced at so many others. I would imagine the sketches will be more difficult to get today just based on the sheer volume of people going. Asher and i really wanted to meet Khoi but he wasnt there Thursday. So, regardless, we will cruise by there today and hopefully get a handahake and sketches for the boys.

We only hit up artist alley because based on previous collector experince, realized time flies standing and watching art get done. I think we were at the Mercenary Art booth for the first hour. So, today wont be as much of that and more of the retail stuff and im sure a huge wait at the Bernthal booth.

Good report?

ok, so, our 2nd day was another success! i spent the first hour and a half standing in line for Jon Bernthal. definitely a nice guy. got a baseball and my TWD #6 print signed by him. was a pleasure to speak to. after that, we hit the floor. on our way to artist alley, my son and i realized we left the boys sketch books at home. after a brief rant, i agreed to take the boys back tomorrow to finish their sketch collection from this con. there will be a day 3 addition too. heres the pics from todays haul.

i think thats about it for me. i still do have 1 more commission to pick up that wasnt ready today. also, gonna support Babisu and pick what hes got left tomorrow, because honestly, hes the most talented artist ive ever met. anything of his, not just invincible, is PURE art. will frame everything i get of his. will post more tomorrow guys. thanks.
